Clarity

During eye glass mission trips, one of the most

beautiful experiences is witnessing the moment one sees clearly for the first time in their lives. For many, this may be their first opportunity to see this life in a new light. For the first time-it is clear.

Clarity can mean many things: Physically, the world may become more sharp and distinct. Spirituality, the soul becomes whole through His everlasting love, for sight is a representation of faith in Christ. Faith is also the eye through which we see the unseen. This is what makes

Our mission so beautiful.

An elderly man visited our clinic today, hoping to get a better chance at seeing more clearly. He kindly greeted us at our testing station and explained that he was fully blind in one eye and had little to no visual acuity. We explained to him that while there was no guarantee that he would see “clearly” again, we would try our best to help in however we could. After some deliberate testing, it was clear to both him and the church members around us that his life had just changed forever. For the first time, he was able to see life through His light. He smiled and so did we. It was one of those moments where we all knew that God was present. He reminded us together that our faith opens our eyes to the reality of His ways, love, and ever lasting presence, for we walk by faith, and not by sight. I don’t think that will ever be forgotten. It was truly- extraordinary.
