The first day of the eyeglass clinic has arrived and the team is more energized than ever. We arrived early to prepare for the day and review each station as a refresher for the team. After some station setup and practice, we successfully were able to see over 100 individuals throughout the course of the day. We were welcomed with delicious food, live music, and warm smiles throughout the rainy afternoon. As the day progressed, we became more comfortable with each other and our team work shined through more than ever before! We learned to be collaborative, adaptive, supportive, and uplifting to each other as well as to all of the men, women, and children we served on the field.
Although it was a damp afternoon, we managed to keep everyone dry by rearranging stations and providing shelter for all those waiting to be seen in the clinic. Everyone continued the day with a smile and a purpose, despite the heavy rainfall. This was proof that even in the darkness, He is still the light of life and the world. Overall, it was a beautiful first day and we are thrilled to continue sharing God's love with the people of Honduras the rest of this week.
