Today has revolved around the principle of renewal. Our team had the amazing opportunity to witness the baptism of four children- an event that is the personal testimony to passage from one life to a new one-one that represents the forgiveness and cleansing from sin that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Together, with local families and members of the church, we prayed and sang and smiled in awe and wonder of the power of God’s grace.
Post celebration festivities included delicious cake and snacks provided by the church followed by a visit a local mall where we enjoyed a meal and time together, reminiscing on all the events that have occurred in the last 48 hours. To close the day, we were able to enjoy a beautiful stroll in the mountains while visiting a national park that overlooked the city of Tegucigalpa. While the team was hesitant to embark in the nature due to rainy conditions, we decided to take a leap of faith to visit the breathtaking statue of Jesus. To our dismay, the clouds began to clear and the sun came out-a miracle and blessing from above! We are ready and eager to begin our first day of clinic tomorrow as we begin to prepare for the week to come. The fun has just begun!
